Attention Wellington Homeowners:
The Wellington Board of Directors wants to remind you that your home is equipped with an irrigation system for your lawn. Each homeowner is responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and proper operation of this system during the summer months. While June was very wet, July has been hot and dry and we are in the middle of a severe heat wave.
We have noticed that several yards are turning brown and need immediate attention. If your yard is in this condition, please consider the following:
• If the system simply hasn’t been turned on for the season please take the appropriate actions to have it activated and set to water adequately.
• If there is a repair that is pending to make the system work, please let us know when your system will be operational.
• If you have chosen not to run your system this season, please let us know how you plan to water your lawn to avoid browning.
Wellington Covenant 4.15, Maintenance of Lots and Improvements, states, “The owner of a lot shall at all times maintain the lot and the exterior in such a manner as to prevent the lot from becoming unsightly including preventing the growth of weeds or other unsightly vegetation and to prevent the lawn on such lot from becoming excessively dry or brown."
This covenant is in place to keep our neighborhood beautiful for residents and visitors alike. Please be aware that you must ensure that your lawn stays as healthy as possible and does not die from lack of water.
This responsibility is part of the upkeep and maintenance of your property and we would appreciate your prompt attention.
Below are the two irrigation companies that service Wellington in case your system needs turned on or repairs. Please feel free to reach out to either of them or one of your own choosing to get your system operating properly.
